Backing myself into a corner
Yes I'm 10 months old and I'm still backing myself into corners. But that's ok because all babies do different things at different times. So I thought I'd update you all on what I've learnt to do since last March:
- moving about: I can push myself backwards when I'm sitting up and when I'm on my tummy. If I have to, I can slide myself around the room on my tummy, roll over and roll back. But basically if I sit still and call for things, I generally get them. And I'm quite flexible so I can reach things without moving that you'd never think I could get to. So that's what I do.
- playing with toys: I love to play with my toys. Sometime I have to battle with Ella to get hold of them but it's worth the effort. I like looking at books too. But I'm specially good with loud toys like drums and tambourines.
- laughing and screaming: What can I say? I'm loud
- talking: I can say lots. I can use the same few words to mean lots of different things. And when my family talk to me or to each other I join in and try to copy any sound I hear. And of course they understand exactly what I'm saying.
- standing up: My latest fascination is with standing up. Any time I can get someone to hold my hands, I prefer to pull myself up to stand up now. I can stand perfectly for ages until they take their hands away...
- eating and drinking: I love to chew crusts of bread. This is handy because Ella likes to leave the crusts (or the skin as she calls it). But don't worry - they give me proper food too. I've a reasonably good appetite. Obviously sometimes I'm just not hungry but then they do seem to be constantly trying to feed me. I like my bottles but I rarely finish a whole one.
- growing: I got another tooth last week. No 7, on the left hand side of the 2 bottom middle ones. I think Mammy wasn't paying attention because by the time she spotted that I had one pink cheek, it was already through. I seem to grow out of my clothes reasonably quickly too but that's ok because there are always plenty of new ones for me to wear.
