Chaos Reigned
To finish up our Christmas break we had a kind of a party yesterday. We left our Christmas tree up because it’s not 12 days of Christmas yet. I know about 12 days of Christmas, I can count that far, although sometimes I miss out 5. Also we left it up so we would still feel like it is Christmas. Because we all love Christmas. The branches are pointing downwards now which makes it easier for me to take the decorations off. In fairness to me, I’ve been pretty good about not taking them off – the first few days I had to be told not too so after that I limited myself to only taking one or two off which Mammy didn’t seem to mind so much. I know some of them are mine anyway because Mammo gave us them as presents. Also when the Christmas tree has gone, I won’t be able to come in to the house, head straight from the tree and say “Christmas lights, Lights on, Put the lights on” until Mammy obeys my command. And I won’t be able to try to guess the colours on the pretty lights as I go up the stairs. That’s a pity because I’m still really only guessing about colours. Once Christmas is over, Ella and me will also have to stop playing the Christmas Lights / Christmas Tree games in the car. We both look out our own window in the car and we shout out Christmas lights or Christmas tree whenever we see one. You have to shout louder if the lights are brighter. It’s good fun.
So back to the party. Grace and Alex and Phoebe were here. We let their parents come along and stay too to look after them and to keep Mammy and Daddy amused too. It was the kind of party where you run around in circles and play with your toys and let other children play with your toys and rediscover how exciting those toys actually are. At one stage Ella & me just ran out into the hall and ran round and round in circles laughing. I’m not sure why but Ella was doing it so I did too. I like going in and out of doors as long as I’m allowed to open and close them anyway. Then we had food – not really party food – dinner for the children, then dinner for the adults, then a choice of ice cream for some of the children and by then we were all quite tired and it was definitely past eight o’clock so they all went home to bed and so did we.

christmas is lovely riodhna. we wouldnt enjoy it as much if we had it all the time so thats why we have to put the tree away & take the decorations down for a while. your party looks like fun, especially since you'd so many lovely new toys to show off!
