Halloween Feast
So now it's nearly the end of the mid term break. Time for a final bit of relaxing before we go back to school and creche and work. Last night was Halloween. That's a very important day. It's Mammy's birthday but more than that, we have to do trick or treating. This year we went with the McCarthys from down the road. We dressed up - I was a pumpkin and Ríodhna was a ladybird. We had pumpkins and spiders decorating the kitchen and then Daddy decorated the hall with spiders webs so only children could walk through without getting spiders web in their hair. And we put a pumpkin with a candle in it outside the front door.
I can tell you that when it comes to knocking on doors to trick or treat, I am not the slightest bit shy. But even I got a fright when I knocked on the door next door and a witch came out. But it was only Una who specially dressed for us. She showed us the princess dress she was going to wear to a party later on.
We went to all the other houses on the street and we got loads of sweets. When we finished, the McCarthys came in to start eating some sweets and to blow out the candles on Mammy's birthday cake. We have a lot of sweets in our trick or treat bags (specially me) so at the rate Mammy lets me eat them, I think they'll probably last till nearly Christmas!!!
