Ella & Ríodhna's World

My name is Ella. This used to be my blog. Then when I was 2 years, 5 months and 1 week old, I got a little sister called Ríodhna. I love my sister so now we're sharing our blog. Welcome to our world...

It's summer time. So we went on a holiday. Not a long holiday. And not to Spain. That's where I wanted to go. Instead we went to Southampton. My Nana and Auntie Nic & Uncle Dave and Dylan and Jenny live there. But this time we had an extra reason to go. My Daddy was coaching the Irish softball team at the European championships. They have all been practising very hard so we went along to cheer them on - its called being the 16th man (although in softball is either the 11th or the 13th man or woman).

Builders sand is great for sandcastles
We went on a ferry. That's a boat big enough to drive your car on to. After you get on there's not so much to do. We watched some of one of the Cinderella movies. And Ríodhna walked around a lot. My little sister doesn't like to sit still. When we got off the boat we still had to drive for ages but we were very good and we had plenty of snacks and everything else we needed with us in our car.

We stayed in Nana's and then we stayed in a silly house where the kitchen was upstairs. We stayed there with lots of girls and their mammy. The Daddies had to stay with the team.
The anthems
We saw a good bit of softball, had quite a lot of picnics and packed lunches, went to some places to play and did some shopping. We both got new shoes. Mine are runners with cats on them and they light up and I got a cat toy and a book with them too. I love them and I am now ignoring my Lelli Kellis and have worn them every day since I got them. They're not quite so white any more but Mammy's not doing a bad job keeping them clean. Ríodhna got yellow shoes. I've never had yellow shoes. They are harder than her first pair which is good because she was walking on the sides of those ones.

Anyway back to softball. You can run around a lot while you're watching it. And it's on grass so Ríodhna can't hurt herself. And except for the last day there weren't so many people there. That was the important day. We had our flags. Ireland did well. But they came second which they were a little bit sad about.

i do quite like the irish uniforms there they look very good all lined out for the anthem - and i saw in the other photos that even though riodhna was asleep she was wearing her patriotic green ducky tshirt. Southampton looked like fun, and there was plenty of sand to be had - sure who needs spain!
