Impromptu Visitors
Ella was at Sean's party yesterday. She's Sean's good friend and she had a lovely time and came back with a balloon sword and bubbles and wondered why Mammy wouldn't let her blow bubbles inside. Sean's Mammy lets him blow bubbles inside.
So I thought that was the only exciting this happening this weekend. And then today the Hills came to visit. It's quite a long drive from their house to here but they were here by lunchtime, just in time for all the children to sit up and eat loads of sausages and rashers and spaghetti and toast. Just as if it was a competition to see who could eat the most.
We just hung out all afternoon. We got those bubbles and went outside and blew loads and loads of them. And the Daddies helped us to blow really big bubbles too. We dressed up and I took Thomas train tracks out so Ronan played with those too. And Ella and Caoimhe played with a box of small girlie toys for big girls - except for the Diego which Ronan preferred and I got a bit of a turn with the Dora toys. Caoimhe brought Ella some lovely paints which aren't very messy at all so we drew pictures with those and then decided it would also be a good idea to pay with the messy poster paints and see how many different colour browns we could mix. Ella and Caoimhe were occupied with that for ages, long after I had moved on to other things. Sinead brought us loads of treats to eat. And also we ate the flapjacks that Ella & me had helped Mammy to make this morning.
Although I keep saying Mammy on this blog, most people in creche say Mummy and Maria wrote Mum & Dad on Ella's valentine card and Ella likes to call her Lisa when she gets the chance too. So don't get the impression that we only have one name for our Mammy. When it was nearly bedtime the Hills had to go so they could drive all the way back to their house. We just had time for tidy up time and a little relax before it was time for us to go to bed.
