Ella & Ríodhna's World

My name is Ella. This used to be my blog. Then when I was 2 years, 5 months and 1 week old, I got a little sister called Ríodhna. I love my sister so now we're sharing our blog. Welcome to our world...

No 5's Alive

I don't know if I mentioned it here, but I wasn't in great form for the last week or so. Obviously I was still sleeping and everything but I just wasn't quite so happy. Well mystery solved - Daddy spotted tooth number 5 yesterday evening when he was playing with me. Acutally I bit him. And it hurt a bit. So he had to investigate how many teeth I had to cause so much pain. And the answer now is 5.

Saturday night is bath night

Saturday night is bath night

well so are most other nights really. But I got some new ducks and practised my new standing up in the bath trick tonight so that was good fun. I know what you're thinking - my hair looks quite red when it's wet. But it look quite blonde when it's dry so that's ok.

I'm having a lazy weekend. Lots of sleeping. And I think Mammy has been sleeping a lot too - taking advantage of me being asleep. Tomorrow I have to cheer for two different teams in 2 hurling matches so that will be a busy afternoon...

Tricks of the trade

Tastes yummy!

I have another new trick too. No, it's not standing and it's not eating phones - although I'm very good at both those things. It's how to get to stay at home with my Daddy for the day.
Step 1: wake up with a bit of a high temperature.
Step 2: don't smile too much at anyone - lie on your Mammy's shoulder and try to go back to sleep.
Step 3: cough a lot and then stop coughing once you get to the doctor's surgery.

Anyway we're not sure what it is yet but I'm definitely off form and now that Mammy is home I have started to cough again!!

As you can see, I'm a big fan of strawberries. And I even managed to eat some of them too.

This weekend I went and bought some new clothes on Saturday so that I have more summer clothes to wear. As you can see, some days I've been stripped to the vest so I think it as about time. Then on Sunday something exciting happened. My Uncle Ross minded me for the first time. Denise was here to make sure he didn't do anything wrong and Mammy, Daddy and Mammo went off somewhere. Well we had a great laugh. They brought me and the dogs for a big long walk, thinking I might feel sleepy. No way! It was far too exciting having new people to entertain so when we got back I made them build towers with blocks for me to knock over for another hour before I decided it was time for bed. I think I've learned a few tricks about how to wrap Uncle Ross around my little finger!!!

More about the weekend

Me and Nana shopping
Originally uploaded by Ella's Ma.

My Nana was here since last week and then my Grandad came yesterday evening. I didn't go to the creche on friday and Nana and Daddy brought me shopping. They let me sit in the proper seat in the trolley. Mammy always tries to put me in the trollies with the special seats for small babies. I don't think she realises I'm not that small now...

We went to the beach yesterday and the dogs went for a swim. Well Muttley swam because he can. Like me, but without armbands. Cosmo isn't able to swim so he just paddled.
Look Muttley's swimming

Aftewards we stopped for a drink so we could all chill out. But despite what this looks like, I didn't get to taste any of Mammy's beer.
Mmmmm, beer

Today we were playing in the garden and then we went for a long drive in the car (well I had a long sleep anyway, I presume they were driving). And then we had some food - a nice lady brought everyone else interesting looking food, but I had the normal stuff. I did make a good attemot to open something called an Eskimo mint but for some reason no-one would help me with that.
I wonder why they're not opening this for me

I think they put me in this dress to slow me down

It's kind of hard to crawl when you keep kneeling on your own dress. But at least I'm back inside now. When I'm outside, I have to stay on my rug because there's all this grass stuff out there and I hate the feel of it on my legs. I heard Mammy say something about growing grass inside. I hope she was joking.

I discovered I can take my hat off if I feel like it. So I didn't want to wear my hat at all today. But then Mammy put her hat on too so I put mine back on to be like her.

Like our hats?

Ok, I am now officially nowhere near the youngest baby blogger. This is Levon's blog. He's a friend of my Auntie Jill's in Toronto so I think she told him about my blog. Mammy says I now a muse. Happy Blogging Levon! The photo of you with Ted is really cute.

This weekend was really sunny. And my Uncle Ross had to dress up in his heavy uniform and stand out in the sun all morning. But he was on the news so I'm very proud of him. And he didn't faint unlike lots of the other people there.

I'm 9 months old today

I'm 9 months old today
Originally uploaded by Ella's Ma.
Hi, I'm 9 months old today. Mammy remembered just as she was dropping me off to the creche that I was just born 9 months earlier. And I think she was glad to go off to work then!

I wore my first clothes for a 9 month old today too. But the trousers are a bit long and anyway most of my 6 - 9 month clothes still fit me because I'm not so tubby any more.

So here I am in variety of poses

I was on my own with Mammy this weekend because Daddy went to Limerick to defend their title in a softball tournament. They didn't win so he got home in time to see me last night. And he got to lie in in the mornings - I'm not so sure why that's a big deal. Who wants to lie in when you can practice crawling and trying to stand up using objects that patently can't take your weight as support...

So I've no photos of Saturday. Swimming pool, shopping and then we went for a walk with Séan and his Mammy. I like going for walks with other babies now - we talked the whole time and tried to hold hands (or maybe that was hit each other) when the buggies got close enough.

On Sunday I went for a walk with the dogs. They were a bit mental when we started out which was scary for me. But once they settled down I enjoyed watching them.

Hurray they're winning

Then in the afternoon I had to watch a hurling match with Mammy. She was getting very excited but in the end Wexford didn't win.

Look what I was watching

Although if I didn't actually mention that here I'm sure I could make people think they did...
