Ella & Ríodhna's World

My name is Ella. This used to be my blog. Then when I was 2 years, 5 months and 1 week old, I got a little sister called Ríodhna. I love my sister so now we're sharing our blog. Welcome to our world...

Here I come

Here I come

I have to tellyou a bit more about our lovely weekend in Wexford. Do you like my new sweatshirt? I got this when Mammy left us with Mammo to go and find some clothes for herself! I'm quite brave about taking a few steps - specially if there is a helping hand in sight.

On Sunday we were meant to go to Caoimhe Hills birthday party. Well I don't know if I was invited too but I was going to gate-crash. But Ella had a bit of a tummy bug so we couldn't really risk that.

In case we don't already have enough toys in our house now that we've moved back in, Mammy found loads more toys in the attic in Wexford and brought them back home.
I'm coming out again
We both loved this - me because they were mostly toys for 1 year old girls, which we didn't need when I was a tiny baby. But now they are just perfect. And Ella always loves seeing new toys arrive and remembering what you do with them. She was so excited about finding the ball pit again that Mammy had to blow the whole thing up (just her mount because she couldn't find a pump) as soon as we got back home on Sunday evening so that we could have a play before bedtime.

Shoe shopping

My new haircut
Originally uploaded by Ella's Ma.
We had a very girlie weekend this weekend. Daddy was away coaching a softball team. So we went to Mammo in Wexford. I got my hair cut. Mary cut it. Once I decided to let her do it, I was delighted. In fact now I've decided that she didn't cut it short enough and I think I'll go back again.

My first proper shoes
While I was getting my hair cut, Mammy and Ríodhna went to get her first pair of proper fitted shoes. She can take a few little steps forward now. But more importantly, she sometimes goes outside with the toddlers so she really needs shoes on her feet. They are lovely soft ones because she's not really walking yet.

My new sandals
Then we went back to the shoe shop for me. I needed sandals. And I got sandals. Sparkly ones. Mammy picked out a few pairs but as soon as I saw these one on, I knew it had to be them. Coincidentally, they were mentioned in the Irish Times magazine the same day but we've had our eyes on these for a while.

Making myself at home

The snake says RROARRR
We re-organised some of the furniture at the weekend. And even more toys appeared. This is great. I wonder if there are any more toys hidden away. Can you see in the background that we have no grass outside? We're planting it at the moment but in the meantime, if we want to play in the grass we have to go to someone else's house. Like Peter's house. He has lots of grass in his garden.

At the weekend, I went to music with Mammy and Elena and Mia (who is too small really) and their Mammy and Daddy. I clapped my hands and joined in a lot. More than Elena - because I haven't learnt how to be shy (or polite) yet so I was comandeering every bell in sight when I decided I wanted to play with them. Ella couldn't come with us because it was only for babies and toddlers so she went with Uncle Ross because Daddy was in work. They fed the ducks and boughts paints and got ice-cream - it should have been lovely sunny weather - it wasn't on Saturday morning but that didn't make them change their plans!

Let me help you up
I have a new game - it's called seeing how long you can stand on your own for before you bounce down on your bum. I'm not bad at it, but I need some practice and I think bouncing down is more fun that standing still. I'm practising trying to move / fall forward into Mammy or Daddy or Ylva or Marta's arms too - they all love that game. Dorothea has just started walking so I'm pretty determined to keep up with her.

They love the animal game too where I roar when I see a lion in a book. They like it so much that I've started to roar when I see any animal. That snake in my hands in the photo was frightening the dog-dogs away when I made her roar.
Peekaboo

My bedroom is looking really good now. I'm just waiting for curtains. Apparently I might not wake so early when I have them. Now that tooths number 9 and 10 have arrived, I don't need as many cuddles before Mammy goes to bed. And Mammy thinks Ella might go to sleep earlier in the evening when she has hers. We'll see... :-)
