Halloween Holidays
We had a break last week. There was a bank holiday and then we just went to creche on Tuesday morning so Ella could go swimming and Mammy could go to the dentist and then we didn't go at all for the rest of the week. Mammy had to go out to work on Wednesday but we entertained Daddy for the day. It was holidays at home - because Daddy finished his job and had some time before the new one started.
We had a public health nurse visit us on Tuesday. She's new to our area so she hadn't met me or Ella or Mammy before. Wow, did I impress her! I did all of the things she asked Ella to do. I didn't string any of my amazing sentences together but Mammy did tell her that I can do that too. I try to copy every word that is said to me at the moment and I'm quite good at it too, if I do say so myself. My new word for halloween is pumpkin. I am able to sing Happy Birthday - I've had lots of practice with that one recently from Ella, then Mammy, then Ross, then Jill. I don't know whose birthday it is next but I like it so much that I even sang it into the silence just before communion in mass. Not sure if anyone except my Mammy and Daddy recognised it. I found a book about Noddy's birthday and make Daddy sing Happy Birthday to all the different people in it with me at bedtime - Noddy, Tessie Bear and Big Ears but not Bumpy Dog. I don't know if dogs have birthdays.
I can also sing baa baa black sheep and twinkle twinkle little star with only a little help too. And possibly even more importantly, I've learned to say "Ella did it, Ella did it" when I can sense Mammy is not happy about something. Or "Ella naughty" in case Daddy's not clear on what's going on.
The Crumps came for the weekend. Because Friday was Halloween, they came early so we could all go trick or treating. I didn't know about Halloween really before and Ella hadn't been out in the dark trick or treating before either. We all got dressed up (well actually I decided to take off my lion costume and not wear it - but the boys wore their scary clothes and Ella put her witches outfit on. Simon made pumpkins with faces that we could put candles in to leave outside our front door. Then Daddy and Monica brought us up and down the whole street - lots of people opened their doors and gave us sweets and lollies and chocolate and even a little bit of money. We were very nice and we didn't do any tricks on the people who didn't open their doors.
On Saturday we played in the house all day. Everyone was too lazy to go anywhere. Séanie was very nice and played with me. Although I don't think he was so happy when I kept calling him "boy" and asking him to play more. Liam is still Ella's very good friend so I have to do that.
After the Crumps went home on Sunday Mammo came to see us with Ross which was great because it felt like we hadn't seen her for ages. Ross was on his way to his holidays. He's going to somewhere called South America which is far, far away for a whole month. Afterwards we went to Marlay park with Clare (and Emma and Jamie). Ella was on her scooter (mostly) and I was on my trike. Clare was asleep in her pram for most of the time and then she decided to go home when we got to the playground. I think it was because she is too small to be able to go on the slides and swings. When she's bigger, we'll let her come in with us.
