Ella & Ríodhna's World

My name is Ella. This used to be my blog. Then when I was 2 years, 5 months and 1 week old, I got a little sister called Ríodhna. I love my sister so now we're sharing our blog. Welcome to our world...

My first sleepover

quick run
So on the day after her party Mammy just brought Riodhna to creche. I didn't go. I packed my bad (well actually I had been packing it for two nights), we put my car seat in Mammó's car, we put my bag in her car, I took my blankets and teddy and Baa and some snacks in the car and off we went to Wexford. Just me and Mammó. For my first sleepover away from home without Mammy or Daddy.

It was busy when we got to Wexford. I had to help Mammó in the supermarket - she didn't have all the right food for me at all. I had to really show her all the right things to buy for having a four year old girl in the house. She met lots of people she knew when we were shopping and I was a very good girl and talked to some of them. I had one night by myself there. I got loads of stories and then I went to sleep. Only a _tiny_ bit later than usual. On Saturday Mammy and Riodhna came to visit Mammo's too. Mammo had to go to a christening that afternoon so us girls went to visit the Hills. We brought down some treats. And Sinead had an age 2 balloon and a present for Riodhna and a fifi balloon for me. We love those balloons. I like playing in Hills. we dressed up in Caoimhe's dressing up clothes, played for ages with their swings and slide and all their outside toys, played in Caoimhe's Rose Petal Cottage, me and Caoimhe made bracelets which were really pretty and had some dinner with them.

with some help of course

On Sunday Daddy and Ross were coming down. But first they had to go to Newbridge so Daddy could fix Ross's laptop. So we had time to go to Johnstown Castle first because Mammo wanted to show us the peacocks that she sees every week when she goes there to do her sewing. Johnstown castle is great fun. We didn't see any peacocks - but Mammy found a very colourful feather from one of them.
Where next
We found fountains and a lake a a little waterfall where we could throw in branches and leaves and watch them appear out the other side under a bridge. We climbed a tree too but we could go into the water because we had our shoes on and we didn't want to get them wet. Other children had wellies but ours were at home.

Daddy and Ross arrived after that. More people to entertain us. We chilled out. On Monday we went for a long walk around Wexford town. We had to buy a new cup for Riodhna because I accidentally broke the one Mammo had bought for her. Apart from that we had a look at the lovely shops and then we walked back to the car along the boardwalk - there are loads of ships along there so we looked at all of those and skipped and hopped and jumped along.

do you think they'll grow
Tuesday was St Patricks Day. We came home in the morning to get our hats and flags from the creche. We were a bit too late to go to see the parade but we watched some of it on tv so that when we were talking about it with Rosanne in creche on Wednesday, I knew what had been on it. Anyway, we were busy in the afternoon. We had to plant some flowers - it's spring time so it's time for gardening.

Mammy collected me after I'd had my nap and we went to visit Auntie Jill and Uncle Mark in their new house. I've never been there before. Neither has Ella - ha ha ha! They have two cats (Lori Black and Tyra Banks) and lots of guitars and a stairs that I walked up and down about 50 times (only slight exaggeration there).

We were there for ages so I had to keep myself busy. After a while the cats stopped running away from me too.

We had to wait for Daddy to meet us so I kept Mark amused by playing guitar for him and I went to see the local shop with Mark who had to buy some of the ingredients for dinner and then we had some dinner too.

I like Jill and Mark's house a lot.

Happy birthday to Ríodhna

hapy 2 to me
Oh my goodness. I love being 2. The best thing about your birthday is that everyone sings Happy Birthday to You. I love it. We woke up specially early in the morning to sing Happy Birthday to me and then I opened my first present - the ones from Mammy and Daddy and Ella. Peppa house, Peppa Pyjamas, Peppa socks, Dora acqua draws. I even got a few minutes to play with them before I had to go to creche.

I brought a chocolate caterpillar cake and some butterfly candles to creche. So at afternoon snack, we had my birthday cake and all my friends sang happy birthday to me again. Also Lina went and got Ella so she was there too. Mammó collected us from creche but then when we were waiting at the bus stop Mammy picked us up in the car. We went to collect more birthday presents from the post office - this time from Nana and Auntie Nic. So I had even more toys to play with before bed. Nana gave me a dancing Cinderella. It makes nice music. I danced around the room to it with Mammy. And I got even more Peppa stuff including dressing up from Auntie Nic.

Yum, i love lettuce - who knew?
Daddy had to do a message on my birthday night so we waited till today to have a part for me. Mammó brought us to creche late and collected us early. We played games until Mammy got home from work. Then she got the party ready. Jill and Mark and Emma and Jamie and Clare came to my party. I made everyone wear Dora party hats. And eat food. And sing happy birthday to me again. And give me even more presents. How good is that!

Christening Season, Part II

our benny hill moment
So then you wait for ages for a bus (like the eleventy-leven that we get home from creche with Daddy) and two come along at once. Because this weekend we went to Phoebe's christening. Thankfully we knew exactly what little girls are meant to do at Christenings. You get dressed up. You go to the church. You talk to adults. You listen to the priest. You watch the baby getting some water poured over her head. Everyone takes a lot of photos. And that's it.

Then we got to go to a restuarant that we haven't been to before. We went upstairs to a room for just Phoebe's family and friends. She has a cousin called Rebekah who is 4 too. She has a big boy cousin too. And Grace and Alex were there too. Phoebe had lovely white balloons and she gave us one each. They kept floating up to the ceiling so we had to tie them down. Luckily there was a spare because Ella's burst off a light and she needed another one.

I think normally you bring a present to a Christening but Phoebe gave all the children a book to look at while we were waiting for food. Ella got a Charlie & Lola one with crayons too because it was a make & do book. I got a lovely one about a shop which had a pop up shop in it.

We had yummy food. Pasta with cheesy sauce. And Ice cream for dessert. All our favourites. I wonder whose christening is next?
