Ella & Ríodhna's World

My name is Ella. This used to be my blog. Then when I was 2 years, 5 months and 1 week old, I got a little sister called Ríodhna. I love my sister so now we're sharing our blog. Welcome to our world...

and we'll have toys here

and we'll have toys here

Ok, don't tell Bob but here I am in the middle of the building site without a hard hat on. I'll have to get Daddy to buy me one. At least I have my wellies. I'm getting loads of use out of them.

Do you like my hair? Jill cut it for me on Saturday. It was just like being in the hairdressers. I sat up on a high chair and watched a DVD.
Poser
Jill pretended she was the hairdressing lady with the new scissors and other funny things Mammy bought and she squirted water on my hair to wet it. It's a good hair cut. I can wear a pony tail (and I have) but it looks neat when it's down too. When Jill & Mark went off, Mammy and I walked up to the farm with Ríodhna to look at all the animals. There were lots of small ponies called Shetland ponies and one Shetland foal - they all had pony tails too.

Having a laugh
For the first time in ages mammy brought me to the swimming pool on Sunday and we left Daddy and Ríodhna at home. Daddy has been bringing me for the last while. The hot pool wasn't very hot but I've got very confident in the water so I bossed Mammy around the place. I guess soon we'll be able to take Ríodhna too because she's getitng bigger now.

Hip Hop Concert

On Friday we had a hip hop concert in the montessori room in creche. Lots of mammies and daddies came and they all sat on the very small chairs at one end of the room to watch. We did our dancing - well the others did their dancing, I stood there looking like a rabbit in the headlights but to my credit, I didn't cry and I didn't run over to my mammy. I didn't do the speech and drama bit but at the end I got my certificate for being a good girl. We have some video of it all which I have watched loads over the last weekend and I will post as soon as Mammy fixes it so it's not too big to download.

My sister was 3 months old yesterday

But you don't get to have a birthday party when you're a quarter of a year old. You have to wait till you are a whole year old.

Sometimes when you're playing with younger children you have to come down to their level. So today I decided to get down on the floor with Ríodhna on her playmat. We both like it down there. I have to be a little bit careful when I start to kick my legs around.

Wax on, wax off
The other job I have is to make sure that the doggies don't run into the house when Ríodhna is on the floor or on one of her low chairs. Cosmo and Muttley like to lick me and sometimes I don't mind but Ríodhna is too small to have them licking her. It might frighten her.

Look, Liam and I are cool
Last weekend we went to Galway to visit Monica and Simon and Conor and Séan and Liam. It was really sunny so it was a bit hot in the car. But I don't like the wind in my hair and Teddy and Baa don't like the wind in their fur so I made Mammy and Daddy keep the windows closed. It was late when we got there so we had to go to bed but on Saturday we had loads of fun.

We played with bubbles in the garden.
Daddy with Ríodhna
We went for a HUGE long walk and I hardly went on the buggy board at all. I walked mostly and went on Daddy's shoulders for a bit. Liam took advantage of the buggy board. Then the sharks had a wedding in the back garden and then Simon cooked dinner outside. And the grown ups drank fizzy drinks as well as the kids but out of different bottles.

Water fights - the McGrath girls steer clear
On Sunday I went through about 4 changes of clothes - I had lots of accidents. I got sick in the car - we're calling this a smelly accident and boy was it smelly. Then I spilt lots of bubbles all over me. The I got a bit soaked by accident when the Crump boys were having a water fight. But all the same I enjoyed the day and I was sorry when we had to say goodbye to get home. We seemed to get home much quicker than the drive there. On Monday we had a lazy day - we went and got the dogs from their holidays in the kennels and then we came home and then we went to the swings and slides. No creche at all. So I had plenty of fun there today to make up for it.

Great for watching the match

Do you like Ríodhna's new chair? I never had one like that but she can sit up really straight in it and watch tv or watch me or watch anything else fun that's going on. This is her watching a football match. It's a present from Nana Kathleen. On the box it says that it's only for babies but I can sit in it too - it's quite comfy!!

Bob the Builder - Can he fix it?

I mentioned Bob the Builder broke my house. Look how broken it is. I call by every couple of days to have a look but all the rooms are really broken now. And there's a digger and a scoop outside all the time. So even when we drive by to have a look, we go back to the new house afterwards. At least there we have all our furniture and toys and other important stuff. And we have a little garden. Mind you, Bob is building on a lot of the garden at my house so it might be the same size by the time it's finished.

I was asleep in the car when we went to have a look at the house on Saturday but Ríodhna and Mammy told me all about the mess inside.

We just had a good bank holiday weekend. It wasn't very sunny but I got new sandals anyway. Charlie and Cian may came on Saturday evening and I took them to see my house too. Cian is small (not as small as Ríodhna) so he's no good for games but Charlie and I played with every game I own.

I went to bed late and then yesterday we went out to have dinner so I went to bed late again. I got a balloon while we were out for dinner. One that you have to hold on to to stop it floating away. Daddy tied it to Ríodhna's car seat and she really loved it.
Ready to hit the town
I was so tired that I slept till half eleven this morning. I think Mammy and Daddy were starting to get worried that I would never wake up!

I saw Ross and Denise today. Denise went to run a race but Ross stayed and let me boss him around for nearly the whole afternoon.
