Ella & Ríodhna's World

My name is Ella. This used to be my blog. Then when I was 2 years, 5 months and 1 week old, I got a little sister called Ríodhna. I love my sister so now we're sharing our blog. Welcome to our world...

We're moving home in 2 weeks

And these boxes are the first sign I've seen of any packing...

Spoonfeeding

Pasta by hand

I'm not sure about this spoonfeeding thing. Mammy has all the control. I still let her feed me of course. But I like to eat by myself too. This pasta was really meant for Ella. I was meant to be eating the plain stuff. But then she decided she wanted plain pasta with butter and cheese. So I got the tomato sauce one. Yum. I love it. I ate half Daddy's chicken this evening too and I quite like a bit of rasher and sausage too.

I've just figured out how to move forwards. Crawl would be a bit of an exaggeration. It's kind of a side-saddle shuffle on my bum. Or a swimming type motion. Or sometimes a bit of a crawl. I'm not restricting myself to one particular type of motion.

What's a blog?

Making the buttons perfect

Well one thing I do know is that when I ask a question that starts with "Why", I hate it it when Mammy says "Why do you think, Ella?". Like I told her the other day, when I say "Why...?", she's meant to say "Because..."

When you're three, there are lots of questions and never enough answers

Look how sunny it was yesterday. It's because I'm such a little ray of sunshine - the sun follows me everywhere! It was such a lovely day and Daddy had to spend ages with the electricians so me and Mammy and Ella went to the park. Because it has been winter I haven't really been on swings properly by myself before. So I had a great time. I love all kinds of rocking and swinging at the moment - on swings, on my rocking moose, on a rocking motorbike in creche - and I sing my new song "Row, Row, Row" all the time that I'm rocking. I can do the proper row, row, row your boat actions with Mammy or Daddy or Ella too but I prefer to rock bak and forwards standing up than sitting down.

I'm all better after my bronchitis now. But I didnt' get better straight away. I was sick for a week and a half and then a few days after I got better, I got a temperature again and for sick loads of times for a day and a bit. But then I got better really quickly again. And now I'm fine. So fine that I'm eating loads more food now than I was before. I like to feed myself too. One of my favourite games is to play at stirring the food and feeding myself with Ella's teaset. When I get bored eating my real food I prefer to feed myself so this weekend Mammy had to start giving me my own spoon and little bowl of food and then while I play with that I let her keep feeding me too. No wonder she was looking for painting bibs today. I don't think she found any.

Look at my jigsaw
This weekend I've been doing a bit more bum shuffling than I normally do too. Mind you, I do as little as possible. I can stretch really far when I'm sitting down so normally I only have to move a little bit before I can reach the toy I'm looking for. When Ella was making jigsaws, it was worth the effort to get the pieces (and hear her squeal!). It's pointless them trying to put me on my hands and knees - I've figured out how to get easily back to a sitting position. I like to pull myself up to my knees but only using a low step like the marble fire hearth - and for some reason, everyone looks very nervous when I try that.
