Ella & Ríodhna's World

My name is Ella. This used to be my blog. Then when I was 2 years, 5 months and 1 week old, I got a little sister called Ríodhna. I love my sister so now we're sharing our blog. Welcome to our world...

My wobbly tooth must not ever fall out - well not yet anyway

Oops. I'm still only 4. And yesterday I bit into an apple in creche and I hurt my tooth. And this morning it hurt again when I ate some toast for breakfast. So Mammy had a look at it. She thought it was a bit crooked looking. And then she felt it. And she got a terrible fright. Because it wobbled. She didn't think that teeth got loose so early. I think she wanted to bring me straight to the dentist. But luckily Sinead was still here & she said Caoimhe got wobbly teeth before she was 5 too - she has been to the dentist and he says it can happen if you get your teeth early. Which I did.

So now I'm wobbling it a little and mostly trying not to hurt it when I brush my teeth and trying not to hurt it when I eat and wondering what will happen next. I actually know from Charlie & Lola that when I does fall out, the tooth fairy will come and give me money and I can go and buy a toy. Sounds good to me- specially if it doesn't hurt too much while it's falling out.

My new bedroom

So all of a sudden yesterday night, just as I was about to get into my cot, I wanted to go in to see something in Ella's room. And Mammy asked me if I'd like to sleep in Ella's room. Of course I would. So she went into my bedroom and found a nice barrier to put at the side of the bed by the window in Ella's room and put it on. She brought my steps in and put them at the end of the bed because it's quite a high bed. Anyway we both had a story together, then mammy turned out of the light and sang a few songs. And then she went away. We were meant to go straight to sleep and I tried to but Ella was worried that I didn't understand all the rules of our room so she got out of bed to come over and tell me what to do. So I woke up a bit then but not for long - Mammy had the baby monitor on so she heard us and came up so after that we both went straight to sleep.

But we love them
Now it's my room and Ella's room and that's my bed. I'm sleeping in it again tonight too. Auntie Emma is minding us so I've promised to go to bed nicely for her. Mammy and Daddy have gone to a concert with Caoimhe and Ronan's Mammy and Daddy. Something called U2. I think they will be here when we wake up in the morning though. And Sinead brought us fairy cakes - I'm not sure which I prefer now - fairy cakes from Avoca or muffins from the zoo...

Daddy minds 5 children

And Ríodhna too

Which is why it was ok for all the boys to come to our house and stay for the evening and night and for Daddy to mind all of us while Mammy and Monica went out to a hen party. I don't know what a hen party is because they were dressed up as hens when they left.. It sounds funny. I think they were going on a boat - more like ducks than hens.

Love the muffins, thanks Aoife
Then today we left Daddy at home and we all went to the zoo. All of us and mammy and Monica and we meet the boys two cousins and their auntie aoife there too. I love the zoo. It was raining some of the time but I had my buggy cover and everyone else had rain coats and the animals don't mind the rain. I was very busy for all the time we were there, running up and down and over and back to the different animals and between all of us so I didn't like having to sit in my buggy very much because I really didn't need a rest. We saw monkeys, got really close to two tigers having a nap, stared right into the eyes of a wolf and watched the sea lions. And then it rained very heavily so we went into the restaurant and had a picnic just like we were on holidays again. Mammy had brought food but actually Aoife went and bought chocolate muffins and other things and the muffins were the real highlight.

A large family
After lunch we went to the snake house and although I'd just been to the toilet 5 mins earlier, when we were finished I decided I needed to go again and of course I got to go because when you say you need to go to the toilet and you are as good as me, you always get taken there.

After snakes we saw Elephants and then another huge shower was coming so it was time to run to the car (via the gift shop where I got a small monkey like the ones we saw and Ella got a small parrot like the one who sat on her shoulder on holidays) and then we had to say good bye and off we went home for a big relax after a very busy weekend.
A smaller family
After all that running around, I finally had my nap in the car - at least 4 hours after I normally have a nap so I really needed it.
