Nana is here

My Nana is here. I’m practicing my bossing skills. Making her walk me around that house anywhere I want to go, showing her how to put Ella’s Annabelle hat on my baby doll the proper way, telling her “no way” when she tries to get out of hand. Making sure everyone knows whether I’ve decided to bump down the stairs or hold on and walk down. If I change my mind after one bump down, I like to stand back up to the top step and start again. Mostly whoever is in front of me watching me and waiting, is very patient about this. We stayed at home with her today and had great fun. Ella took loads of photos. We had a bath in the morning. We ate all our lunch and I had a nice long nap. She’s going to Cork in the morning but she’ll be back in the weekend and she’s staying for another few days so hopefully we’ll get to do lots more playing then.

We hadn't seen her since last summer so she might have thought that I was still a baby instead of a toddler who can pretty much ask for anything I want and tell everyone all what's going on all the time. Oh, and has my own fashion sense as you can see. Especially since we've been a bit slow about keeping our blog up to date so there aren't always up to date photos of us available every month now. But we are till taking the photos, It's just the we need mammy's help to write in the blog and she's a little bit busy at work at the moment. So it's fantastic when Nana comes to stay and we can stay home for a few days and really chill out. And watch loads of Peppa Pig on tv and dvd. Peppa is definitely my favourite.

Chaos Reigned

To finish up our Christmas break we had a kind of a party yesterday. We left our Christmas tree up because it’s not 12 days of Christmas yet. I know about 12 days of Christmas, I can count that far, although sometimes I miss out 5. Also we left it up so we would still feel like it is Christmas. Because we all love Christmas. The branches are pointing downwards now which makes it easier for me to take the decorations off. In fairness to me, I’ve been pretty good about not taking them off – the first few days I had to be told not too so after that I limited myself to only taking one or two off which Mammy didn’t seem to mind so much.

I know some of them are mine anyway because Mammo gave us them as presents. Also when the Christmas tree has gone, I won’t be able to come in to the house, head straight from the tree and say “Christmas lights, Lights on, Put the lights on” until Mammy obeys my command. And I won’t be able to try to guess the colours on the pretty lights as I go up the stairs. That’s a pity because I’m still really only guessing about colours. Once Christmas is over, Ella and me will also have to stop playing the Christmas Lights / Christmas Tree games in the car. We both look out our own window in the car and we shout out Christmas lights or Christmas tree whenever we see one. You have to shout louder if the lights are brighter. It’s good fun.

2 girls get over-excited
So back to the party. Grace and Alex and Phoebe were here. We let their parents come along and stay too to look after them and to keep Mammy and Daddy amused too. It was the kind of party where you run around in circles and play with your toys and let other children play with your toys and rediscover how exciting those toys actually are. At one stage Ella & me just ran out into the hall and ran round and round in circles laughing. I’m not sure why but Ella was doing it so I did too. I like going in and out of doors as long as I’m allowed to open and close them anyway. Then we had food – not really party food – dinner for the children, then dinner for the adults, then a choice of ice cream for some of the children and by then we were all quite tired and it was definitely past eight o’clock so they all went home to bed and so did we.

Happy 2009

Whats in here

All the excitment of Christmas lasted for ages. It's good. You just play with your toys and go to playgrounds and go to peoples houses and get people to come to your house. And spend loads of time with your Mammy and Daddy.

Wii overload
We even went to Galway to see the Crumps. That was for New Year. It's a long way to Galway. You have to drive in the car for ages but that's ok because we can watch our new Peppa pig dvds in the car - Ella is in charge of the remote control but that's ok because I can boss her and tell her what I need her to do. You have to take a break in McDonalds in Athlone to have a Happy Meal and get a balloon and have a little run around. And then you have to get in the car and watch even more Peppa. Ella turned it off for half an hour so I could have a snooze but as soon as I heard her switch it back on again I woke up. Even though I normally sleep for two hours at home in the day time.

The boys
When you get there you have to say hello to all the boys and to Monica and Simon and then you have to sort out where everyone is going to sleep. I stay with my Mammy and Daddy. And Ella stayed in Liam's brand new bottom bunk. Séan and Conor were in Conor's room so we could steal Séan's room. We stayed for two nights. Hanging out. They got some great new games for Christmas. Something called a Wii. I can't play it. But I can watch the Boy. And I can raid the linen press for all other types of games and jigsaws and everything. And we brought our Peppas. And I got a new princess carriage and Ella got a vet's kit as a present we we had loads to do.

Speaking of wii, I made a big surprise announcement to mammy that I was going to do a wee. So I stopped playing and then I started again a few minutes later. But I don't have to go to the toilet like everyone else yet... P.S. When I grow up and read this bit of the blog back, I'm going to be morto and say this was way too much information.
