Ella & Ríodhna's World

My name is Ella. This used to be my blog. Then when I was 2 years, 5 months and 1 week old, I got a little sister called Ríodhna. I love my sister so now we're sharing our blog. Welcome to our world...

My week off

After Easter I didn't go to the creche all week. On Monday I helped Daddy to put a new door on the shed at the bottom of the garden. He says "measure three times, cut once" - I say "measure everything in sight". Why not?

Then on Tuesday we went to Wexford to visit Mammó for a few days on our holidays. . Not Daddy, just me and Mammy and Ríodhna.I had a very busy time. Mammó's flowers need a lot of watering. In fact I watered the flowers, the plants, the grass, the stones and the wall in her back garden many times. I'm so glad I brought my wellies with me.

We did it - we made it to the beach
We went to the beach where I made lots of sandcastles - this year I'm in a more constructive mode so I make them but I don't knock them straight down. In this picture here I've all my clothes on but before we left I'd found a nice pool that I could splash around in without going near the waves so I just had to strip off for that.

With Caoimhe & Ronan HillT
he next day we went to the Hill's house and I played with Caoimhe and Ronan. They have great toys and a really good playroom. I'm hoping we might get a playroom soon. The best toy was a cash register - I learnt how to swipe a credit card in it to pay for the shopping which everyone agreed would be very useful for me in future.

A 1970s Fisher Price Paradise
On Friday Mammy went to the attic and found a huge supply of toys from when she was a little girl. There was a garage, a house, a school, a doctor's kit, a workman's kit and a cooking set and loads more. I had loads of fun playing with them. There were some baby toys too but Ríodhna is so small that she can't play with them yet.

My Easter Eggs

It seems like a long time ago now but we had Easter since the last time I blogged. I like Easter. Not as much as Christmas but it's nice to have all that chocolate around. It disappears faster than I eat it. I suspect Mammy might be helping me out a bit.

On Easter Sunday we brough Ríodhna for her first trip to a restuarant. She was pretty good seeing as she was only 4 weeks old and she slept most of the time and let us get on with eating our dinner. I ate so much of my dinner that I hardly had room for this egg(!!). Afterwards we went to the swings and slides. It was lovely sunny weather and it has been ever since. And Mammy says it isn't even summer yet.

On the playmat

So as you can see I'm letting Ríodhna have my baby gym now. I really don't have much use for it although I do still like switching on the music. Here she is awake - for a change.

Today Ríodhna had to go to have an injection. Mammy said she was very brave - she only cried a tiny little bit. Mammy and Ríodhna collected me from the creche and for the 2nd day in a row, we walked home. Well Ríodhna went in the pram, Mammy walked and I went on the buggyboard - I know that sounds like it might be lazy but I sing and swing around and jump up and down and even get off for a little walk, so it's quite energetic and after a long day in the montessori room, I think I'm pretty good to not insist they collect me in the car.

Can you notice how much bigger my little sister is getting? (I call her sweetie pie when I'm talking to her by the way). She's drinking a lot of milk - we think there must be some cream in it because already she is 9 lbs 14oz which is quite heavy for a little baby.

Here she is then - my little sister sitting in her lullaby chair. I was sharing my milk with her but she didn't seem that interested. This is the first time I saw her wearing something tat wasn't a babygro. I've discovered that babies sleep a lot and don't try to share big girls toys.

We have had loads of visitors these days. Grandad was here last weekend to see me and Ríodhna. We got lots of messages done while he was around. This weekend, on Saturday I went to the pool with Daddy and Ríodhna and Mammy went to meet some of her friends in town for lunch. Mammy said Ríodhna was very good a stayed asleep all the time. Yesterday I went to buy a door with Daddy, then Auntie Emma called and helped me have lunch, the Charlie and Cian Maye called over with their Mammy and Daddy. Cian is only a baby - although he's a lot bigger than Ríodhna - but Charlie is a big boy or 4 and a half so I let him play with my toys. We played Thomas the Tank Engine and Lego and had some tea. Then Jill and Mark called and Jill helped to put me to bed.

ok, you can see I haven't let Ríodhna near this blog yet. She's ok though - so far I've decided that I'll let her stay in my house. But some days it's all about me and the day we took this photo, we went shopping but it was all about me. I got a haircut from a hairdresser who Mammy thinks doesn't know how to cut hair straight. I have pictures of it on Flickr but I don't think I'll be seeing him again. I don't mind - the people who cut it before were nicer but I spent most of my time watching a Noddy DVD when he was cutting it anyway and that was good because I'm back in a Noddy phase anyway. I got new shoes - size 6 and a half. Daddy picked them - they are purple with pink flowers on the front.
